SLCPokemon : Team Battle TCG tournament!

Hey everybody! There is a new tournament coming up using a format that we don't see too often. At the Game Den on the 13th of this month there will be a team battle tournament for the Pokemon Trading Card Game! Come on by for a fun, interesting change of pace in the Pokemon TCG tournament scene!

If that is not enough, then also come on by to the Super Smash Bros. Brawl tournament at the Game Den on the 15th as well!

Tuesday, April 13th, 2010
Registration starts at 5 PM
Tournament starts at 5:30 PM

Entry Fee:
$1/person with all entries going toward prizes.

Rules:
This will be a Modified tournament.
Team mates will be determined at random.
During set up each player sets out four prizes.
Each player may have a maximum of 4 Pokemon on his or her bench.
You may play a Supporter with the effect of the Supporter being on your team mate (whenever a Supporter says "you" of "your" in it's effect you may have it apply to your team mate), but you may still only play one supporter per turn.
When using an attack, it only affects the apponent you attack, including imunity, discarding of tools/stadiums, reduced damage, exc. This also counts for things such as Jumpluff, you only count your's and your opponent's Pokemon that you are attacking.
If either player on a team cannot draw a card at the start of his or her turn, that team loses.
All eight prizes per team must be drawn to win.
Only one Stadium may be in play at a time and it affects all players.
Burn, Poison, and Sleep damage counters/rolls, are only done before and after the turn of the player who is affected.
If you knock out one of your opponent's Pokemon and you have no prizes left you team mate draws a prize.

The Super Smash Bros. Brawl tournament will be at the Game Den on April 15th. registration will begin at 4:30 with the tournament starting at 5 PM. Team Mates will be selected at random. There is a $1 entry fee to go toward prizes. All items will be disabled other than the Smash Ball. Stages will be pre-determined.

SLCPokemon : Pokemon HeartGold And SoulSilver Release Tounaments

Hey everybody! Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver DS games will be released on Sunday, March 14th! To gear up for the 2010 Video Game Championship Series we are holding two release tournaments. That's right, TWO! We will be using the rules set up by TPCi for the 2010 Video Game Championships with a few exceptions. The be sure to read the full rules for each tournament. The tournaments will be held on Saturday, March 13th and Sunday, March 14th. There will be great prizes and lots of fun. Full rules and locations are below.

Rules:
The Pokemon Platinum, Diamond, and Pearl games will be used for this tournament.
Only English Pokemon games may be used.
All Pokemon must be between levels 1 through 50.
This will be a 4 on 4 double battle tournament.
You may bring 4 to 6 Pokemon and up to 6 held items. Pokemon may not be changed during the tournament. Items may not be changed during the tournament, but may be placed on different Pokemon each round.
The following Pokemon are not allowed: Arceus, Celebi, Darkrai, Deoxys, Jirachi, Manaphy, Mew, Phione, and Shaymin.
You may only have two of the following Pokemon on your team of six Pokemon: Dilaga, Giratina, Groudon, Ho-oh, Kyogre, Lugia Mewtwo Palkia, and Rayquaza.
Pokemon may not have offensive nicknames or that of another Pokemon.
The item Soul Dew is not allowed.
No two of the same Pokemon may be used on a team.
No two of the same item may be held.
If a player used Explosion or Self Destruct and knocks out all remaining Pokemon in play, that player loses the round.

Rules:
This will be a 4 on 4 double battle tournament
Each player must have 6 Pokemon on their team.
In between rounds a player may switch the 4 Pokemon they use between their team of 6, but may not switch the original 6 for new Pokemon. (The team of 6 you start with is the team you use throughout the tournament.)
You may not have more than one Pokemon of the same species. (i.e. you can't use more than one Pikachu, Lucario, etc. Just one of each.)
Arceus, Mew, Celebi, Deoxys, Jirachi, Darkrai, Shaymin, Manaphy, and Phione are not allowed.
Pokemon may not hold duplicate items.
The item Soul Dew is not allowed.
The attack Dark Void is not allowed.
One hit KO attacks are not allowed (Horndrill, Sheercold, Fissure, Guillotine, etc.)
If a player uses Explosion or Self Destruct and it KOs all remaining Pokemon that player loses.
The attacks Destiny Bond and Perish Song will fail if used by a player's last Pokemon.
No more than one Pokemon may be asleep or frozen at the same time on one team.
Pokemon may not have offensive nicknames and may not be nicknamed after another Pokemon (no nicknaming Lucario "Pikachu".)
No more than two of the Pokemon on this list may be used per team: Dialga, Giratina, Groudon, Ho-oh, Kyogre, Lugia, Mewtwo, Palkia, and Rayquaza.
Only English versions of Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum may be used.
Pokemon must be at level 50.

Hello everybody! We have another exciting Pokemon video game tournament coming up! We are holding the tournament at the Game Den in the Valley Fair Mall. The format is 6 on 6 Double Battle at Level 50 or lower. The tournament is at 6 PM on February 20th. The details are below. I hope to see you there.

Rules:
You must use one of the following games: Pokemon Pearl Version, Pokemon Diamond Version, Pokemon Platinum Version.
You must bring 6 Pokemon to battle with.
You cannot use more than 1 of any Pokemon.
You cannot have two or more Pokemon hold the same item.
You cannot use a Pokemon that has an offensive nickname, has a nickname that is the name of another Pokemon, or has a nickname of another Pokemon on your team.
You may not have a Pokemon with moves that affect accuracy as it's only effect (such as Evasion or Sand Attack).
The following Pokemon are not allowed: Giratina, Giratina (Origin Form), Wobbuffet, Mewtwo, Mew, Manaphy, Lugia, Latios, Kyogre, Shaymin (Sky Form), Wynaut, Ho-oh, Groudon, Garchomp, Dialga, Deoxys, Deoxys (Speed Form), Deoxys (Attack Form), Deoxys (Defense Form), Darkrai, Arceus, Palkia, Rayquaza, Rotom (Wash Form), Rotom (Sky Form), Rotom (Heat Form), Rotom (Cut Form), and Rotom (Frost Form).
Soul Dew is not allowed.
The battles will take place on Pokemon Battle Revolution with the following conditions in place: Only one Pokemon may be asleep at a time on one team. Only one Pokemon may be frozen at a time on one team. If all Pokemon are knocked out by Self Destruct or Explosion, the user of the move loses. Perish Song and Destiny Bond will fail if used by a player's last Pokemon.

Remember everyone, we've got a prerelease this Saturday!

Time: Registration begins at 11:00am (closes at 11:45am)
Cost: $25.00 per person

Format: After you register, you will be given 6 Booster Packs of Heart Gold Soul Silver. Basic Energy will be provided for all players to help build their decks. At the end of the tournament players will receive an additional 2 Booster Packs. As an added bonus, players returning their Basic Energy cards (unless they need them) will receive 1 more Booster Pack of Heart Gold Soul Silver - a total of 9 Booster Packs for the cost of only $25.00!! As an added bonus, if you bring someone with you who has never played before and they sign up to play, you will receieve 1 more Booster Pack! (You could walk away with 10 packs!)
