Play N Trade is hosting a tournament for the Pokemon DS games! Bring your Pokemon and come down on Saturday, November 7th. It will be a whole lot of fun. The best part is that the winner of the tournament will earn store credit! We will be using the same rules that were used at the Pokemon World Championships this year. This is a great opportunity to expand the Pokemo video game competetive scene because Play N Trade wants to make this a regularly occuring thing, but we need to have a lot of you to show up in order to make it happen.
Official Rules:
Each player must enter 4–6 Pokemon.
Each player must enter 4–6 held items.
During the tournament, players may only use Pokemon and held items they started the tournament with.
Each Pokemon entered in the tournament must remain in that player’s party for the duration of the event.
The Pokemon and held items entered may not be changed once the player has registered for the event.
Players may change which held item a Pokemon is using between matches only if both the Pokemon and the held item were entered at the start of the tournament.
Each match will use the 2-on-2 format.
Each Pokemon on a player’s team must be Level 50 or lower. The Pokemon Communication Club Colosseum does not have an auto-level feature, so Pokemon that are Level 51 or higher cannot be adjusted down to Level 50 and are ineligible for this competition.
A player’s team may not contain two of the same Pokemon.
Each Pokemon in a player’s party may use held items, though no two Pokemon in the party may hold the same item. Items allowed include held items from Pokemon Platinum Version and earlier video games, including Berries 1–64. The Soul Dew item may not be used.
Players may not enter two Pokemon with the same nickname.
Players may not enter a Pokemon nicknamed with the name of another Pokemon character (for example, a Lucario nicknamed “Spiritomb”).
Players found to have inappropriate/offensive Trainer names or Pokemon nicknames (as determined by the event staff) will be disqualified from the event.
